The New England Patriots went on the road and lost to the Cleveland Browns by a 37-13 margin in Thursday's preseason finale.

It initially looked like the game was shaping up to be an offensive shootout. The Browns opened up with a touchdown on their first drive, and the Patriots responded with backup quarterback Tommy DeVito connecting with wide receiver Kyle Williams on a 45-yard touchdown pass.

And then it was all downhill from there.

The Browns' offense continued to dominate the game and hang points on the board, while the Patriots' offense stalled for multiple drives, mustering only two field goals off the foot of kicker Andy Borregales.

Rookie quarterback Behren Morton got an extended look in the game, and it was a rough night for the first-year signal-caller. Morton finished the game throwing for 123 yards and two interceptions. He would have had three interceptions if one wasn't called back due to a defensive pass interference call on the Browns.

With this loss, the Patriots have officially wrapped up the preseason, and they can now focus on their scheduled regular season opener against the Seattle Seahawks on September 9. Here's how fans reacted to Thursday's loss on social media:
