The Iowa Hawkeyes have produced yet another senior class that is brimming with talent. The group was the catalyst for an 8-4 regular season and a bowl bid to take on the Vanderbilt Commodores in the ReliaQuest Bowl in Tampa, Florida.
With a group that talented, it takes an incredibly special talent to rise above the rest, not just at Iowa or the Big Ten, but in college football. The Hawkeyes had two players perform above the rest, and are seeing that output recognized.
The Iowa Hawkeyes have two players receiving nods to the CBS Sports 2025 College Football All-America Team in center Logan Jones and return star Kaden Wetjen.
Logan Jones earned Second-Team All-American honors as a center behind Miami’s James Brockermeyer. During his tenure with the Hawkeyes, Logan Jones appeared in 51 games and has 50 starts under his belt. His play helped the Iowa offensive line become a Joe Moore Award finalist and will see him playing on Sundays in the NFL next year.
Earning First-Team All-American notoriety for the Hawkeyes is superstar return man Kaden Wetjen.
Even by late November, opponents still hadn’t figured out to avoid kicking to Wetjen. Year after year, Iowa seems to produce a dangerous return specialist, and Wetjen is the latest in that line. He led all FBS players with four special teams touchdowns (three on punts and one on a kickoff) and totaled 965 return yards — 160 more than the next-best player in the FBS. – CBS Sports
This season, Wetjen had 19 punt return yards for 538 yards and three touchdowns, with a long of 95 yards. He also made 14 kickoff returns for 427 yards and a touchdown, with a long of 100 yards.
