It was great news for Notre Dame football when 2027 quarterback commit Teddy Jarrard decided to reclassify to the 2026 class and get a head start on his collegiate career.

The move got the attention of more than a few teams, as 247Sports Tom Loy is reporting (subscription required) that two teams, Georgia and Indiana, are still trying to get him into their classes. It goes to show you that Notre Dame got a great one, but will still have to fend off the Bulldogs and Hoosiers for a few more weeks until he can sign.

The good news is that Loy reported that Jarrard will be “signing with the Irish in February and enrolling in June.” If that does happen, Notre Dame will keep its impressive record of not having one flip during the 2026 cycle. Jarrard should come into the program and compete for the backup job, as the Irish didn’t go hard after a transfer and were happy with the way that the room will look in the fall.
