Florida football added another recruit to its 2027 class after landing three-star athlete Kamarion Johnson on Friday.

Johnson chose the Gators over Florida State and Cincinnati after John Sumrall and staff built a strong relationship with the 6-foot, 185-pound high school junior, who made multiple trips to Gainesville before announcing his decision.

"Johnson brings lots of versatility to Florida's 2027 class, as the Gators recruited him as a secondary prospect as well as wide receiver," Swamp247's Tyler Harden said of the two-way standout. "However, he projects most as a safety at the next level."

The Gators' latest pledge is viewed as a versatile athlete with a ton of upside. The Homerville, Georgia, product recorded 29 tackles and 5 interceptions to go along with 38 receptions for 828 yards and 11 touchdowns.

Johnson has also posted 400-meter dash marks of sub-51 seconds — good enough for fourth in the Georgia 1A Division II state competition. The Peach State native showcased his speed last season, returning two punts and a kickoff for touchdowns.

Kamarion Johnson's recruiting summary

Johnson is slated as the No. 439 overall prospect in the 2027 cycle and No. 39 at his position according to 247Sports composite, while On3 industry rankings have him at Nos. 812 and 25, respectively. Johnson fielded 13 total offers, including two other SEC programs in Alabama and Mississippi State.
