Tyrann Mathieu has added another achievement to his illustrious career.

It was announced earlier today that the Cotton Bowl has named Tyrann Mathieu to its Hall of Fame Class of 2027, which will be inducted in the spring of 2027.

Mathieu is being honored for his dominant performance in LSU’s 2011 Cotton Bowl appearance against Texas A&M.

Mathieu was a true freshman in that game, and it would be the final time he wore No. 14 for the Tigers.

In that game, Mathieu finished with eight tackles, one sack, one interception, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one pass breakup. Leading the Tigers to a 41 to 24 victory over the Aggies.

Because of his performance, Mathieu became just the second true freshman in Cotton Bowl history to win Defensive MVP honors.

Another Tiger legend receives a major honor.
