It hasn’t taken Bob Chesney long to change the recruiting reputation surrounding the UCLA Bruins football program. UCLA has a Top-10 2027 recruiting class and they could add onto that, hosting five-star wide receiver Xavier Sabb for a visit this week.

Sabb is from Glassboro, New Jersey but is showing interest in the new-look Bruins program, with Sabb having a chance to become the biggest recruit of Chesney’s early UCLA tenure. Sabb stands at 6’1” and is ranked as 247 Sports composite’s No. 31 overall player in the class.
UCLA is one of several teams interested in landing Sabb, with Alabama, Georgia, Oregon and LSU all having visits scheduled with the wideout. Sabb helped Glassboro High School go a perfect 14-0 last year, hauling in 59 catches for 896 yards and 13 touchdowns. Sabb added another touchdown with his arm, with his lone passing attempt of the season resulting in a 71-yard touchdown.
The Bruins weren’t always a main option for Sabb. Back in November, Rivals reporter Hayes Fawcett reported that Sabb was down to his final 10 schools, with UCLA not being one of them. Things have changed since Chesney took over the Bruins’ football program, with UCLA joining USC as a legitimate recruiting threat in Southern California.

Sabb would be a major addition for the Bruins, becoming the highest-ranked UCLA recruit of the decade and giving the team a huge building block moving forward for Dean Kennedy’s offense. Sabb wasn’t the only recruit UCLA hosted this week, with four-star Ohio State QB commit Brady Edmunds having a visit with the Bruins on Saturday.
