UConn football lands three more 2027 commits

Heading into the weekend, the UConn football team added three 2027 commits to the roster, bringing the class to 23 players. Currently, the Huskies are ranked No. 66 in the 2027 team recruiting rankings.

Wilder Brasher, Offensive line

After receiving an offer from UConn on Monday, Brasher announced his verbal commitment to the Huskies on X on Tuesday. The Georgia native picked up a total of 12 offers, including from Toledo, Kansas State, UCLA and Army. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound offensive lineman’s last official visit was on June 19 with UCLA and now Brasher, who plays for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee HS (GA), becomes Connecticut’s 22nd 2027 commit.

Javon Lane, EDGE

Lane announced his verbal commitment to UConn on X on Wednesday. The three-star defensive end prospect received six offers, including from Syracuse and Temple. The Huskies gave the New Jersey native an offer on March 23 and hosted his official visit last Friday.

During the 2025 season, Lane helped Atlantic City HS (NJ) to an overall 10-2 record. As of now, the soon-to-be senior is ranked 1,492 nationally, 113 at the edge position and 43 in New Jersey. In his sophomore year (2024), the 6-foot-5, 230-pound edge rusher racked up 48 tackles (34 solo, 14 assisted) and six tackles for loss. Lane is seen as an aggressive defensive player who explodes off the line.

Jamarr Malcolm, Offensive Line

Malcolm announced his verbal commitment to UConn on X on Saturday. The New York native received 13 offers, including from UMass, Minnesota and Syracuse. Malcolm, who plays for Cardinal Hayes HS (NY), is seen as a powerful attacker who can create space for the run game. Now, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound offensive lineman will join Krystian Oakley, Aden Norris, Jeremiah Ogbeifun and Wilder Brasher as Connecticut’s fifth 2027 offensive lineman recruit.
