MIAMI, Fla. – CanesInSight insider Danny Hernandez, otherwise known as “D-Money”, addressed viral internet rumors involving three Miami Hurricanes football players on Friday morning.

Cam Vaughn

The “news” on the West Virginia wide receiver transfer is that he’s leaving the team. If so, it would be the program’s third roster departure ahead of the upcoming college football regular season. According to Hernandez’s clarity reporting, Vaughn’s future is “in doubt.” However, the process continues without a conclusion at this moment.

Vaughn is a redshirt junior who is coming off a productive season with the Mountaineers. He caught 35 passes for 541 yards and scored four touchdowns. Before competing in the Big 12, Vaughn started his collegiate career at Jacksonville State. In two seasons with the Gamecocks, he caught 48 passes for 803 yards and scored five touchdowns.

Given the Hurricanes’ wide receiver depth, Vaughn was projected to play in a reserve role. However, whether or not he wears “The U’s” uniform is up in the air.

Jordan Lyle

On Thursday, a Facebook account went viral for posting a picture of Jordan Lyle’s mugshot in a jumpsuit. Hernandez clarified that an incident occurred, but not during the start of fall camp. The program is fully aware of it and the case is still undergoing the legal process.

According to Fox Sports South Florida reporter Andy Slater, Lyle was arrested on a warrant. He faces felony charges of fleeing from police and reckless driving.

Lyle has been present at the Coral Gables campus, practicing with the team since spring.

An official statement by UM:

“We are aware of an incident involving student-athlete Jordan Lyle,” the statement said. “As due legal process runs its course, we will have no further comment at this time.“

The 20-year-old junior running back is coming off an injury-riddled season. In six games, he rushed 35 times for 108 yards and scored a touchdown against Stanford. Lyle is motivated for a comeback season, alongside a deep running back room.

Ja’Boree Antoine

The final rumor in the span of 24 hours is that Ja’Boree Antoine suffered an injury and will miss the season. Hernandez didn’t mention the sophomore cornerback by name but labeled the notion as “misreported” and “half-truth.”

Antoine suffered a couple of significant injuries in his junior and senior years at Westgate High School.

Last season, as a freshman, the former four-star recruit played in 12 games, including all four in the College Football Playoffs. Antoine logged seven total tackles, five solos and two assists, and one pass broken up. He’s projected to carve out an increased role in the Hurricanes’ secondary this upcoming season.

Coming off the National Championship game, the program is looking to keep contending but finish with different results. The Hurricanes are the favorites to win the Atlantic Coast Conference, return to the College Football Playoffs, and chase another deep run.
