UNC vs. Notre Dame Live Discussion

The Tar Heels once again find themselves playing in the rain in Kenan Stadium, but this time it is against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. These two teams are in very different places with their season, regardless of what the record looks like. UNC is trying to bounce back from what was a really frustrating loss to Clemson, while the Irish are seeking to keep their perfect season alive in hopes of making it to the College Football Playoffs.

The good news for UNC is that defensive end Melkart Abou Jaoude is expected to play, which will give them a lot more to work with against Notre Dame’s offense. There also hasn’t been any word of any changes at quarterback, so Bill Belichick seems to want Billy Edwards Jr. to give it another go. The concerning thing is that we saw something similar happen last season — Gio Lopez wasn’t really getting the job done, but Belichick refused to play some of his younger talent. Maybe today goes differently, but Notre Dame is a much more difficult team to deal with putting it mildly. Rooting for signs of improvement in the face of adversity is probably all we can ask for.

As always, we will be back after the game with post-game analysis and takes. Until then, Go Heels!
