Former University of New Hampshire star running back Jerry Azumah was announced Wednesday as a member of the 2026 National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame class.

The class, which will be inducted on Dec. 8 in Las Vegas, includes 18 players and four coaches.

Azumah, who played at UNH from 1995-98, is the second person from UNH to enter the hall of fame. His former Wildcats coach, Bill Bowes, was inducted in 2016.

Azumah was the first FCS player to eclipse 1,000 rushing yards in four consecutive seasons and he set FCS records in career rushing yards (6,193) and all-purpose yards (8,376). Azumah, who spent all of his seven NFL seasons with the Chicago Bears (1999-2005), received the 1998 Walter Payton Award as the FCS' top offensive player.

The Worcester, Mass., native still holds nine UNH program records, including single-game rushing yards (329), rushing yards in a season (2,195) and career all-purpose yards.
