Big Ten Championship Game Clinching Scenarios

The final week of the regular season will see the two teams playing for this year's Big Ten championship in Indianapolis, officially confirmed. After Week 13, no spots have been officially clinched. Here are the updated clinching scenarios for Week 14 for the teams still alive for a conference title shot.

  • Indiana: Win vs. Purdue or Michigan loss
  • Ohio State: Win vs. Michigan
  • Oregon: Win vs. Washington and Ohio State loss
  • Michigan: Win vs. Ohio State and Indiana loss

Ohio State and Indiana have the easiest path to the Big Ten championship. A win in Week 14 by either will clinch one spot in the conference championship game, plain and simple. Oregon, who lost to Indiana, would need Ohio State to lose in order to slip past the Buckeyes in the standings (Oregon and Ohio State did not play each other this season).

Michigan will need a massive helping hand from lowly Purdue to create a possible four-way tie that comes to their rescue.

Bowl Eligibility Tracker

Eligible: Indiana, Ohio State, Michigan, Orgeon, USC, Iowa, Washington, Illinois, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern

This week's regular-season finale between Penn State and Rutgers will be a winner-goes-bowling game, where the winning team will clinch postseason eligibility by reaching the six-win minimum.

The Big Ten will have a total of 12 teams eligible for postseason play this season.
