The Florida Gators may not be back in the College Football Playoff conversation, but a win against Georgia on Halloween could certainly do the trick.

According to ESPN's Kyle Bonagura and Mark Schlabach, Florida isn't destined to be in a super noteworthy bowl game, but they're still back on the rise after a pair of eye-opening losses.

Florida is now projected to take on either Pittsburgh in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl on Wednesday, Dec. 30, or face Nebraska in the ReliaQuest Bowl on Thursday, Dec. 31.

Both bowl games are set to take place in Florida, one of which is in Jacksonville and the other in Tampa.

Florida vs. Pittsburgh in TaxSlayer Gator Bowl

There wouldn't be a more fitting place for the Gators to finish the 2026 season than in a bowl game that has the name Gator in it.

Pittsburgh was in the AP Top 25 for a hot minute, but quickly fell out after falling to Bill Belichick's North Carolina Tar Heels.

Bonagura sees the Panthers participating in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, which will take place on the day before New Year's Eve at EverBank Stadium, the home of the Jacksonville Jaguars.

On paper, Florida should have no issues against Pittsburgh, but they slipped up against a pair of opponents already, and who knows if they'll be able to carry the momentum that comes after stunning the Texas Longhorns in Austin.

Florida vs. Nebraska in ReliaQuest Bowl

Nebraska has been quite a surprise in the Big Ten this season, and the ReliaQuest Bowl is known for having a marquee Big Ten vs. SEC showdown.

Bonagura believes that LSU will be Nebraska's opponent in this one, while Schlabach has the Gators taking on the Cornhuskers.

For reference, Schlabach sees Virginia Tech facing LSU in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl, so that's quite the 180 from what Bonagura predicted.

Regardless, this is a rock-solid Nebraska team, and they'd be more than up for the challenge to try and take down Florida at the home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Raymond James Stadium could indeed be where the Gators end their season, though there are still quite a few games remaining that could change everything.

Obviously, if Florida beats Georgia, that would put them back in the CFP conversation, as long as they win out.

Neither Nebraska nor Pittsburgh are in that conversation, so this goes to show just how much wiggle room there still is through Week 7.
