Updated matchup predictor after Oklahoma's win over Tennessee

The Oklahoma Sooners control their own destiny with three games remaining in the 2025 regular season. After their win over the Tennessee Volunteers, Oklahoma has a shot to make the College Football Playoff. A loss in Knoxville and Oklahoma would have had to win out and need a lot of help to remain in consideration.

But now everything is on the table for Brent Venables’ crew after their big road win. The Sooners have shown a lot of resilience this season, earning road wins in hostile territory after their losses. Now, Oklahoma hopes to go on the road after the bye and earn another critical road win when they take on No. 4 Alabama on Nov. 15 in Tuscaloosa.

At 7-2, the Sooners have already secured a better record than they had in 2024. And with three games to go, Oklahoma has a chance to win 10 games for the second time in Brent Venables’ tenure. Oklahoma has Alabama, Missouri, and LSU remaining

With Week 10 in the books, how does the ESPN matchup predictor see the rest of the Sooners’ 2025 schedule playing out? Here’s an updated look at the game-by-game predictions.

Oklahoma Sooners a Bubble Playoff Team

The Oklahoma Sooners are projected to finish the season strong with a pair of home wins over Missouri and LSU. Their defenses will pose challenges for Oklahoma’s offense but the Sooners defense will have the edge against their offenses.

If the Sooners want to assure themselves a berth in the College Football Playoff, they need to come out of the bye week and finish the season 10-2. If they get to 9-3, they’ll have a strong case to be made for inclusion in the playoff. However, the Sooners don’t want to leave it in the hands of the committee, so all they need to do is simply win football games and they’ll be in a great spot.
