USA TODAY Sports released its annual ranking of all the college football stadiums within the Big Ten Conference. Nebraska's Memorial Stadium sits in the upper half of the rankings, placing seventh.

Ohio State stands above the field while Oregon, Penn State, Michigan, Iowa and Wisconsin round out the rest of the top six. Paul Myerberg acknowledges The Sea of Red as one of the most iconic spots in college football. However, the past couple of decades have reduced the fear-inducing effect on visitors compared to Nebraska's peak.

But the Huskers' steady shift in the right direction over the past couple of seasons, along with the sellout streak, helps Nebraska stay in the upper half of the Big Ten. Also, with the current renovation plans, the Huskers have the opportunity to move higher up in the rankings. In fact, the Huskers moved up one spot from last year's ranking, showing signs of improvement.

"This is one of the most iconic spots in college football but not really a fear-inducing locale for visitors, even if things have slowly started to improve under coach Matt Rhule. Despite the lack of sustained success since the early 2000s, the stands will be full of red with the Cornhuskers’ sellout streak shows no real signs of slowing down."

However, the history of Memorial Stadium continues to grow with more milestones being reached each passing year. Whether it's surpassing 400 consecutive home sellouts, housing 92,003 for a volleyball match or becoming the third most populated area in the state come gameday, Memorial Stadium remains a relevant site.
