USC extends lead on Rutgers football with 99-yard pick six

PISCATAWAY − Rutgers football was on the verge of taking the lead against No. 12 USC, but a killer interception killed that opportunity.

With first-and-goal at the 9, Dylan Lonergan threw a pass for Jourdin Houston that Prophet Brown picked off at the 1 and returned 99 yards for a touchdown that extended the Trojans' lead to 27-14.

It was Lonergan's second interception of the game.
