USC football opposing player scouting report – Ian Moore, Ohio State

USC football plays Ohio State this season. A to Z Sports, via Yahoo!, looked at Buckeye offensive lineman Ian Moore.

"Ian Moore is the wildcard for this offensive line, as he could end up being the starting left tackle for the team, allowing Siereveld to plug into a more natural spot for him at right guard. Moore ended last season with 34 snaps against Miami in the College Football Player with Siereveld injured. He's improved this offseason and it sounds like he just might be Julian Sayin's blindside protector this fall.

"'Moore is still getting stronger,' Lettermen Row's Austin Ward said of the redshirt sophomore's progress. 'He is still being viewed by his teammates as a dynamic athlete for his size with a chance to develop into a first-round draft pick. And he is absolutely not lacking any confidence in his own abilities, which is also crucial given the level of responsibility and pressure that comes with playing left tackle at Ohio State. It's still too early to make a call with any degree of confidence about whether he will claim that job with the Buckeyes shifting Austin Siereveld back to right guard, but Ian Moore is doing his part in the summer to keep that fully on the table.'

"Moore is a 6-foot-6, 312-pound Indiana native with a true offensive tackle build. Recruiting services listed Moore as an interior lineman in the class of 2024, when he was a four-star recruit and a top-150 player in the country. Through two seasons in Columbus, Moore has played in 18 games with 261 total snaps between the offense and special teams. In terms of the Buckeyes getting their very best five players out on the field, Moore taking the next step and taking the left tackle job would stop the Buckeyes from having to play someone else at left guard who may not be as good an offensive lineman."

The look at Moore touches on some elements of uncertainty in Ohio State's offensive line room. USC's defensive line has to expose any limitations the Buckeyes have up front. If they can't, it's hard to see how the Trojans can win this big-boy football game.
