USC holds at No. 14 in latest USA TODAY US LBM Coaches Poll

On Friday, the USC football team defeated Fresno State 39-0 at the Coliseum. With the victory, the Trojans improved to 2-0 on the 2026 season.

Despite the dominant showing, however, USC did not move up in the latest USA TODAY US LBM Coaches Poll, which was released on Tuesday. The Trojans held firm at No. 14, the same as their preseason ranking.

USC is one of eight Big Ten teams ranked in the poll. Joining the Trojans in the top 25 are No. 1 Ohio State, No. 5 Indiana, No. 6 Oregon, No. 16 Penn State, No. 19 Washington, No. 21 Iowa, and No. 24 Michigan.

The Wolverines being ranked at all is by far the most absurd part of this week’s poll. Michigan might have “won” against Western Michigan over the weekend, but in no way did it look anything like a top 25 team.

As for USC, the Trojans are back in action on Saturday night at the Coliseum against Louisiana. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. Pacific time on Big Ten Network.
