The University of Southern California Trojans are searching for a bounce-back victory following a 41-27 loss to the Oregon Ducks, but head coach Lincoln Riley must navigate a crowded training room first. The initial Big Ten availability report released ahead of Saturday’s matchup against the Washington Huskies reveals significant injury concerns for USC, particularly across the receiving corps and defensive line.

Wide receiver Trent Mosley and defensive tackle Alex VanSumeren headline a group of seven Trojans listed as questionable. Mosley has developed into a dynamic big-play weapon for USC, accumulating 255 receiving yards and four touchdowns on 13 catches across three appearances.

Losing Mosley would remove a key option for quarterback Jayden Maiava, who has powered the offense with 1,499 passing yards and 14 touchdowns through five games. Starting tight end Mark Bowman, who has logged 21 receptions for 204 yards and two touchdowns, is also questionable, while wide receiver Corey Simms and safety Kendarius Reddick are officially out.

Defensively, the Trojans face serious depth concerns upfront. Both VanSumeren and defensive tackle Jahkeem Stewart are dealing with injuries, threatening to compromise USC’s interior defensive rotation against a physical opponent.

Fortunately for the Trojans, Washington enters the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum far from full strength. The Huskies will play without three running backs on Saturday, as Jordan Washington, Jayden Limar, and Quaid Carr were all ruled out on the availability report.

That depleted backfield should ease the burden on USC’s banged-up front seven. On the other side of the ball, Trojans running back King Miller, who leads the offense with 412 rushing yards and three touchdowns, looks to spearhead the ground attack and exploit Washington’s front.

If USC expects to improve to 5-1 and regain momentum in conference play, several key contributors will need to clear protocol and step up on Saturday.
