USC Predicted to Lose 4-Star WR Recruit Charles Davis to UCLA

The USC Trojans and head coach Lincoln Riley have quickly put together an impressive 2027 recruiting class. With nine commitments, the group ranks second in the Big Ten and fifth in the nation.

Already landing commitments from wide receivers Quentin Hale (four-star) and Eli Woodard (four-star), the Trojans are in the mix for another pass catcher. Charles Davis, out of Westlake Village, California, is set to announce his commitment on Friday.

Often listed as both a wide receiver and tight end, Rivals Industry Rankings list him as a four-star recruit, the No. 48 wide receiver and the No. 370 player in the nation.

With his decision days away, Rivals’ Adam Gorney wrote that USC, the UCLA Bruins, Oregon Ducks and Nebraska Cornhuskers have been “heavily involved in his recruitment.” He noted that the Georgia Bulldogs and Ole Miss Rebels have also reached out.

He would be a major addition for the Trojans. Last season for Westlake High School, he appeared in 11 games, racking up 30 receptions for 526 yards (career-high) and 11 touchdowns (career-high).

Unfortunately for USC, though, things aren’t looking good as Friday nears. On Wednesday, Rivals’ Greg Biggins logged an expert prediction for Davis to land with the Bruins. Biggins has been correct in 92.59% of his 54 predictions.

UCLA has done its due diligence when it comes to the playmaker. He’s already made his way to campus for one unofficial visit (Jan. 17), with another scheduled for Saturday. He’s also set to take an official visit with the Bruins on May 15.

If Biggins’ prediction becomes a reality, then USC will continue pushing for other wide receivers. According to the Rivals recruiting prediction machine, the Trojans have the best chance (37.1%) to land four-star Damani Warren.
