USC remains No. 14 in AP Poll after 2-0 start

On Friday, the USC football team defeated Fresno State 39-0 at the Coliseum. With the victory, the Trojans improved to 2-0 on the 2026 season.

Despite the dominant showing, however, USC did not move up in the latest AP Poll, which was released on Tuesday. The Trojans held firm at No. 14, the same as their preseason ranking.

USC is one of seven Big Ten teams ranked in the poll. Joining the Trojans in the top 25 are No. 1 Ohio State, No. 5 Indiana, No. 6 Oregon, No. 16 Penn State, No. 19 Washington, and No. 21 Iowa.

Unlike in the USA TODAY US LBM Coaches Poll, Michigan is not ranked. Thankfully, the AP voters had some common sense that their coaching counterparts lacked and did not include a Wolverines team that, for all intents and purposes, lost to Western Michigan over the weekend.

As for USC, the Trojans are back in action on Saturday night at the Coliseum against Louisiana. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m. Pacific time on Big Ten Network.
