Utah Football 2026 Schedule: Full Breakdown and Season Outlook
NCAAF College Football News, Photos, Stats, Scores, Schedule & Videos...
Utah has plenty of work to do to try improving on the terrific 11-2 season of last year, and it has to do it with a new coach and outlook.
Will the 2026 Utah schedule help out Morgan Scalley as he takes over, or will there be just enough landmines to mess up a run to the Big 12 Championship?
The Good, the Bad, and Who Utah Misses in 2026
The Good
There’s no Texas Tech to deal with, and the BYU game is in Salt Lake City. There will be other nasty Big 12 teams to deal with, but there’s no complaining about missing the Red Raiders and hosting the Cougars.
The Bad
The second half of the season has a run of three road games in four weeks. The five Big 12 road games overall will be a drag come mid-November.
What Big 12 Teams Utah Will Miss
Arizona State, Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, UCF.
Of course you’d like to get Oklahoma State and Kansas State when they’re undergoing a coaching transition, and UCF and Baylor didn’t go bowling last year, but no Arizona State, no Texas Tech. You take that deal.
Utah’s Best and Worst Case Scenarios in 2026
Best Case: The Utes get to the BYU game unbeaten
Beating Arkansas early sets the tone, not tripping up against Iowa State in the Big 12 opener is great, and the team powers through road dates with Colorado and Cincinnati to be 8-0 before hosting the Cougars.
Worst Case: Halloween starts a scary stretch
There’s at least one trip early on, and the finishing kick falls apart with losses at Arizona and TCU in back-to-back road games to ruin an otherwise fantastic season.

Games That Will Decide Utah’s Season
1. Nov. 7, BYU. It’s of course about the rivalry, but it’s also the late season home oasis in a sea of road games.
2. Sept. 26, at Iowa State. It’s the tone-setter for the Big 12 season. Lose the opener on the road, and the Utes will be chasing.
3. Nov. 14, at Arizona. Win this, and if everything goes over the first nine games of the season, the pressure will be off a bit on the road at TCU a week later.
