Vero Beach football fans gather by hundreds for state semifinal tickets

Move over, Taylor Swift, Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter. There’s no hotter ticket on the Treasure Coast right now than Vero Beach football in the FHSAA state semifinals.
An estimated 200 fans wrapped around the Citrus Bowl on the morning of Thursday, Dec. 4 to buy tickets to Vero Beach football’s upcoming Class 7A state semifinal game.
No. 1 overall seed Vero Beach (13-0) will face No. 4 seed Miami Palmetto (11-2) on Friday, Dec. 5 in a 7 p.m. kickoff on Billy Livings Field at the Citrus Bowl.
Vero Beach is making its first FHSAA state semifinal appearance since 1998.
Tickets for the home side stands were sold for $11 each from 8 to 10 a.m. at the Citrus Bowl’s main gate. Remaining home side tickets will be available on Friday when gates open at 5:30 p.m. Online tickets sold through GoFan are for the visitors’ stands only.
Regardless of result, it will be the final Vero Beach football home game at the Citrus Bowl this season.
The Class 7A state championship game will be hosted at Florida International University’s Pitbull Stadium in Miami on Saturday, Dec. 13.
The Fighting Indians are in pursuit of the program’s first state championship since 1981.
