The third round of the TSSAA football playoffs was loaded with standout performers from the Jackson area, as multiple teams kept their season alive.
It’s time to vote for the Jackson area’s boys athlete of the week.
Nominees
Cole Brown, McKenzie: Brown was 12-of-17 passing for 147 yards and a touchdown in a 24-21 victory over Richland. He also rushed for 116 yards on 13 attempts and two TDs, while making 14 tackles, including one for loss, on defense.
Miles Brown, Westview: Brown had four receptions for 108 yards and three touchdowns in a 44-6 victory over Melrose. He also had an interception on defense.
Tyshaun Jeter, South Gibson: Jeter scored two touchdowns, including the game-winner in South Gibson’s 27-21 overtime win over Springfield.
Jaydon Peete, Milan: Peete had 21 carries for 287 yards and four touchdowns in a 38-21 victory over East Nashville.
Ty Seaton, Dyersburg: Seaton had touchdown receptions of 85 and 26 yards in a 42-21 loss to Covington.
Barrett Shelton, USJ: Shelton had 14 tackles, five tackles for loss and two sacks in USJ's 31-12 victory over PCA.
Kenton Smith, Huntingdon: Smith passed for 97 yards and one touchdown. He also ran for 123 yards and four touchdowns while adding one tackle as Huntingdon defeated East Robertson 42-20.
