What was the best play in Milwaukee-area high school sports last week? You tell us.
This past week featured three excellent plays from Week 8 action of high school football around the area and you can decide by voting for the best one from now until noon Saturday, Oct. 17, as many times as you'd like.
We have a submission tool on our Preps Plus portion of the Journal Sentinel website. The location to upload your clips is under the top banner that's labeled "Upload Your Video". It's a four-step process that will allow you to upload clips from the week across all fall sports. The clips must be trimmed and uploaded to be 30 seconds or shorter in the proper formatting to be eligible for selection. Please submit your clips by the end of the day on Mondays each week to make sure your clip is potentially included to be a nominee.
If you have any questions about submitting a play of the week nominee, contact Michael Whitlow via email at mwhitlow@gannett.com.
Connor Henschel, jr., Franklin football
Henschel is also up for the Journal Sentinel's athlete of the week this week after catching four passes for a team-high 89 yards and a touchdown in Franklin's comeback against Oconomowoc on the road this past Friday. Henschel made a 29-yard field goal as time expired to give Franklin a 24-21 victory to complete a 21-7 halftime comeback. The Sabers outscored the Raccoons 17-0 in the second half, including 10 points in the final quarter.
Kade Kintop, sr., Port Washington football
Kintop caught four passes for 83 yards and a touchdown in Port Washington's 42-34 victory over Plymouth this past week, but it was his 42-yard interception return for a touchdown in the fourth quarter that helped the Pirates seal the deal and clinch no less than a share of the Glacier Trails Conference title.
Jude Siikarla, sr., Slinger football
Slinger dominated the 16th annual Coaches vs. Cancer game against rival Hartford 33-0 this past week and senior wideout Jude Siikarla had one of the plays of the night. Late in the first half on Friday night, Siikarla caught a 20-yard touchdown pass in the back of the end zone and somehow got a foot down inbounds for his fourth score of the season.
