The 2025 high school football season has come to an end. Many Seacoast New Hampshire and southern Maine teams had strong seasons with talented players contributing to their respective team's success
One defensive player has been selected from each team for Seacoast Football Defensive Player of the Year, presented by York County Community College as part of the Athletes of the Week program.
Read on to see the nominees for the Player of the Year and vote for your choice.
How do I cast my vote?
Voting can be completed through the ballot below. Voting closes at midnight Thursday, Dec. 11.
How do we learn who wins?
The winner will be announced in a story published Friday, Dec. 12 at seacoastonline.com/sports and fosters.com/sports.
Who are the nominees?
Deshaun Bailey, Somersworth, senior, defensive tackle
Bailey was one of the leading enforcers for the Somersworth defense, providing a strong presence on the defensive line.
Jack Brennan, St. Thomas Aquinas, junior, defensive lineman
Brennan had 72 total tackles this season, with two fumbles recovered.
Greg Castoras, Marshwood, junior, linebacker
Castoras compiled 65 tackles, with 13 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, two sacks and a fumble recovery for the Hawks' defense this season.
Anthony Flagg, Portsmouth/Oyster River, senior, linebacker
Flagg played a big role for the ClipperCats' defense this season, holding down a linebacker role.
Ryan Hebert, Dover, sophomore, linebacker
Hebert totaled 100 tackles with 12 coming for a loss of yardage, and two sacks for Dover this season.
Maverick Hope, Spaulding, senior, defensive end
Hope lined up in multiple spots on the field for the Spaulding defense this year, contributing in a variety of ways.
Cole Kelley, Exeter, senior, linebacker
Kelley made huge plays defensively for the Blue Hawks all season, and was a key piece for the Exeter defense.
Ben Martine, Traip Academy, senior, linebacker
Martine recorded 59 tackles, one sack and one interception for Traip Academy this season.
Jaxon McDonald, Winnacunnet, junior, defensive back
McDonald totaled 42 tackles, 13 passes defended, six interceptions, three fumbles recovered and one sack for the Warriors defense this year.
Casey Raymond, York, junior, defensive lineman
Raymond, an unanimous first-team all-conference selection, had 41 tackles, three tackles for a loss and two sacks, spearheading York's defense.
