Another memorable high school fall sports season is now wrapped up.
Before we release the South Shore players who made our football All-Scholastic teams, we need the help of our readers. You will help choose our Player of the Year in each sport yet again this year. Like our recent polls, we've narrowed down the list to the best of the best.
Vote for the Brockton-area High School Football Player of the Year below. Reader votes will make up 20% of the tally. Our four staff reporters (Chris McDaniel, Eric McHugh, Jason Snow and Ryan Vermette) make up the rest of the vote.
Voting will end on Monday, Dec. 22.

Ryan Solimini, Abington
Senior did a little bit of everything for the South Shore League Sullivan Division champion Green Wave. … Scored 17 TDs with over 1,500 all-purpose yards and 4 interceptions. … Played running back and linebacker. … Had 2 TDs and an interception in Thanksgiving win over Whitman-Hanson. … "Ryan came up big when we needed it the most," said Abington coach Ed Reilly.
Jack Lambert, Bridgewater-Raynham
Senior quarterback led the Trojans to the Div. 2 semifinals. … Completed over 71% of his passes while throwing for 2,569 yards, 28 TDs and 7 INTs. … Led B-R to three playoff wins over his career. … Threw 3 TD passes in a 40-12 win over Brockton on Thanksgiving.
Jarred Mighty, Brockton
Senior receiver/safety had 37 receptions for 492 yards and 6 TDs. … Also ran for 3 TDs while returning 1 kick and 1 interception for a score. … Tallied 45 tackles. … Had the game-sealing pick-6 in a win over previously undefeated Weymouth. … "Jarred has been the best two-way player in the South Shore over the last two seasons," said Brockton coach Jailson Silva.
Tyler Holmes, West Bridgewater
Senior running back tallied over 2,000 all-purpose yards this fall. … Finished the season with 28 total TDs. … Ran for 1,536 yards and 24 TDs. … Finished career with over 6,000 yards rushing and over 60 TDs. … Returned one kickoff for a TD. … Enterprise Football Player of the Year in 2024.
Wyatt Goyette, Middleboro
Senior scored Middleboro's first 11 TDs of the season. … Finished the season with 188 carries for 1,464 yards and 18 TDs. … Also had a receiving TD and kick return TD. … Ran for 395 yards against Dartmouth. … Finished career with over 2,300 yards rushing and 33 TDs. … Has started at 3 offensive and 2 defensive positions while also kicking over the last 3 years. … "He has been the most dynamic and explosive football player that we have had at Middleboro," said Middleboro coach Pat Kingman.
