With so few South Shore high school football teams playing last week, we’ll combine out Offensive and Defensive/Special Teams Players of the Week into one poll.
Once the D/ST poll goes final, we’ll update the winner right here.
Last week’s South Shore High School Football Offensive Player of Week is South Shore Tech’s Johnny Burgio. The senior received over 8,200 votes to earn the honor. Burgio ran for 167 yards and 3 TDs in a 30-6 win over Minuteman in the MVADA playoffs.
The Defensive/Special Teams winner will be announced on Tuesday at noon.

Tyler Stelljes, Soph., Scituate
Stelljes hauled in 3 catches for 157 yards and 2 TDs in a 34-21 win over Duxbury in the Div. 4 semifinals. He also threw a 60-yard TD pass on a trick play.
Grayson Foley, Jr., Scituate
Foley ran for 137 yards and 2 TDs in a 34-21 win over Duxbury in the Div. 4 semifinals.
Jack Luccarelli, Jr., Norwell
Luccarelli rushed for 3 fourth-quarter TDs as Norwell rallied to defeat Hudson, 21-7, in the Div. 6 semifinals.
Matthew Panttila, Sr., Norwell
Panttila had a 55-yard catch to set up a Luccarelli rushing TD and set up another with an interception as Norwell defeated Hudson, 21-7, in the Div. 6 semifinals.
Mike Wildfire, Sr., Cohasset
Wildfire threw 2 TD passes and ran for another as the Skippers defeated Northbridge, 35-15, in the Div. 7 semifinals.
Gus Greene, Sr., Cohasset
Greene ran 27 times for 224 yards and a TD as the Skippers defeated Northbridge, 35-15, in the Div. 7 semifinals. He scored his 27th rushing TD of the season, breaking the program’s all-time single-season record.
Mekhi White, Sr., Randolph
White ran for 2 TDs and sealed a 20-12 win over Nashoba Valley Tech in the Div. 8 semifinals with a fourth-quarter interception.
Johnny Burgio, Sr., South Shore Tech
Burgio ran for 2 TDs as the Vikings defeated Keefe Tech, 36-20, in the small-school voke semifinals.
Joseph Humphreys, South Shore Tech
Humphreys returned an interception 40 yards for a TD and recovered a fumble as Vikings defeated Keefe Tech, 36-20, in the small-school voke semifinals.
Mikey McDonagh, Sr., Blue Hills
McDonagh ran for a TD and caught a TD pass as Blue Hills defeated Northeast Metro, 24-21, in the medium school voke semifinals.
