If Arizona is rich in high school football quarterbacks, they need receivers. Arizona is rich in that position, as well, in 2026.

As part of a continuing series previewing the upcoming season. Here, The Arizona Republic ranks the top high school football receiver rooms for 2026. This includes running backs and tight ends. Readers can vote in the poll for the group they think is best. Print readers can find the poll online with this story at azcentral.com/sports/high-schools.

Top 12 receiver rooms

1. Chandler Basha

Jaden Baldwin, a Pittsburgh commit, leads a top flight of receivers. Then, there is Mountain Pointe-transfer Makai Nelson, who has 12 Division I college football offers and might be the best receiver in the 2028 class. Count on Christian Diaz and Tristan Sailer to contribute. Noah Roberts might be the best receiver in the state coming out of the backfield at tailback. Justin Miller is an electric back who can do it all. And tight end Barry Adams returns as a two-way player.

2. Chandler Hamilton

When you have the Oliver brothers — Roye III and Roman — on the field, and you've got Jax Sculley at quarterback, this poses as a matchup problem for secondaries. Both receivers are electric and can go the distance any time they catch the ball. Roye, who is committed to USC, caught 29 touchdown passes last season. And he'll have more help in the receivers room this year.

3. Mesa

This is an electric group of receivers, led by Arizona State-commit Kingston Anetema, whose football IQ separates him as one of the top receivers in the state. Kameron Williams, a top two-way player, is a big, physical target. Malachi Inzunza emerged during June's 7-on-7s as a viable option at tight end. Vaingamalie Tafuna is a quick twitch slot who will find open space.

4. Chandler

Jai Jones, a Wisconsin commit, is considered one of the top wide receivers in the nation. He's got hands, speed and moves that separate him. He's complemented by 6-foot-5, 210-pound tight end/wide receiver Gage Scheurn, and wideouts Maxwell Sprott, Jackson Colter, Kaydon Gray and Easton Arreola. Quarterback Ty Wisdom won't have trouble finding open receivers.

5. Phoenix Mountain Pointe

This group starts with juniors Aiden Rodriguez and LeGarrette Blount Jr. Both are explosive athletes with elite speed and big-play abilities. Tight end Mekhi Hodge can extend the field with his big-play catches down the middle of the field. He's a matchup problem at 6 feet, 3 inches, 230 pounds.

6. Queen Creek Casteel

Coach Joe Bushman really likes his group. He returns 6A championship game offensive MVP Troy Jauregui. RJ Gory, a Northern Arizona commit who transferred in from Tucson Salpointe Catholic, is a shifty route runner. Another strong slot receiver is senior Joel Cal, who did not play last year.  He is a tremendous route runner who could have a breakout year. Watch out for running back Wyatt DeFreitas. Collin Greene, Trendon Washington, Daniel Gallardo and Hez Smith round out the crew. And the Colts have QB Tee Smith (Hez's brother) for a full season.

7. Phoenix Brophy Prep

The Broncos graduated Devin Fitzgerald (Notre Dame) and Daylen Sharper (Stanford), but return Donovan McNabb Jr., a UNLV commit. They also boast tight end Brady Powell and speedy slot receiver Ryder Noche. Julian Ferrari, TE/H-back John Chrostowski, and incoming freshman Karter Chamblin will contribute. And a strong dose of Bishop Allen and Truth Canidate gives Brophy a very strong receiver room.

8. Goodyear Desert Edge

This is a major strength at the 5A school, especially after 6-foot-6-inch wide receiver Jay Rawls (UConn commit) moved in from Georgia. He complements Washington-commit Zerek Sidney, who is healthy after missing most of last year with an injury. Jhaheem Brown, Hajj Brown and Aiden Honeywood all have Division I college offers.

9. Phoenix Northwest Christian

This 4A team returns Landon Beckman (58 catches, 835 yards, nine TDs in 2025), Zayne Wallwork (37-434-3) and Conner Main (56-603-3).

10. Phoenix St. Mary's

Another strong 4A receivers room for talented QB Luke Horn is led by Anthony Cannon, who had more than 1,300 yards receiving last year. Ezekiel Chavez, a junior, had nearly 1,000 combined yards receiving and rushing. He's a matchup problem in the slot. Billy Lewis, Ryan Navarro and Kingston Fanaika all can make plays.

11. Scottsdale Christian

The three-time defending 2A champions will rely heavily on the leadership of their three senior receivers: Caleb Murphy, Dom Dickerson and Kyle Olafson.

12. Chandler Prep

This 2A school has as potent a receiving corps, led by senior Aaron Crawford, who had 51 catches for 1,015 yards and 16 TDs last season. Senior Oliver Rodriguez had 35 catches for 719 yards and posted 10 total TDs last year. Senior Elliot Garone returns as a starting receiver. Junior running back Marshawn Britt has big-play potential catching the ball out the backfield or from the slot.
