Vote. The Republic's top 15 Arizona high school football players, Week 12

This is a look at who stood out the most during Week 12, Nov. 6-8, of the Arizona high school football season. Coaches provided input. Vote in our poll below for the player you think had the best performance last week. Poll closes at 5 p.m., Nov. 13. Top 15 HS Football Players of the Week

1. Talan Arnett, Mesa Mountain View, WR, Sr.

He caught three TD passes, including the game-winner in overtime, to beat Highland. He now has 40 career TD catches, which sets a 6A state record. He also played safety, making big plays.

2. Donivan Dixon, Cactus Shadows, QB, Sr.

In a 56-35 5A first-round win over Tucson, in which the Falcons scored 35 first-quarter points, Dixon passed for 346 yards and five TDs, completing 22 of 32 passes. He also ran for 159 yards and two TDs.

3. Dayne Silver, Eastmark, QB, So.

He had his best career game, leading Eastmark to a playoff win to snap Desert Sunrise's seven-game win streak. He was 15 of 21 for 227 yards and three TDs. He ran three times for 46 yards and another score.

4. Cooper Payne, Tanque Verde, RB/LB, Sr.

In a 39-15 playoff win over Camp Verde, he ran 11 times for 133 yards and a TD and caught four passes for 139 yards and a score. On defense, he had 10 tackles, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a blocked field goal.

5. Baylor Arnold, Veritas Prep, S/WR, Sr.

He had two touchdown catches and two interceptions in a 35-6 2A second-round playoff win over Eloy Santa Cruz. Veritas improved to 11-0.

6. Chuck Van Dyke, Paradise Honors, RB, Jr.

In an upset of Peoria in the first round of the 4A playoffs, he ran for 214 yards and a TD on 38 carries, putting him over 2,000 yards on the season. 

7. Jameson Wade, Red Mountain, LB, Sr.

In a loss to Queen Creek, he had 16 total tackles, four of them for losses.

8. Nate Jones, Notre Dame Prep, RB, Sr.

He ran for 247 yards and three TDs on 17 carries in a 49-20 5A playoff win over Maricopa.

9. Donovan McNabb Jr., Brophy Prep, WR, Jr.

He had his best varsity career game, catching two TD passes in a 56-28 win over Williams Field.

10. Case Vanden Bosch, Brophy Prep, QB, Sr.

In the Williams Field game, he ran for 128 yards and a TD on 13 carries and passed for 154 yards and three scores.

11. Brady Goodman, Mesa Mountain View, QB, Sr.

In the OT win over Highland, he ran for 134 yards and three TDs and passed for three scores and more than 250 yards.

12. Skyler Cole, Hamilton, RB, Jr.

He ran 16 times for 147 yards and the game-winning 17-yard TD late in comeback win over Chandler.

13. Daniel Vaita, Hamilton, QB, Sr.

He started the second half after starter Jax Sculley came out with a knee injury. After throwing a pick-six, Vaita completed 9 of 14 passes for 190 yards and two TDs to Roye Oliver III, including a 57-yarder.

14. Roye Oliver III, Hamilton, So.

Contained most of the first half, Oliver ended up with 12 catches for 198 yards and two TDs.

15. Britton DeWitt, ALA Queen Creek, QB, Sr.

In a 41-21 6A win over Casteel that clinched an Open playoff spot at No. 11, he completed 14 of 18 passes for 299 yards and four TDs. He was not intercepted.
