The first of the quarterfinal games finished up with Miami landing a resounding win over the heavily favored Ohio State last night. Who could have ever seen that one coming?? (Hint… that’s me!)
But the real festivities begin today, with Oregon and Texas Tech squaring off in the Orange Bowl at 11:00 CT. Or, if you’re in Pacific Time, it’s the wonderful 9:00 am kickoff – so grab some coffee!
The Red Raiders boast the nation’s top defense, and if they continue their dominance in the playoffs, they’ll have an argument to be up there with the likes of 2021 Georgia, 2017 Alabama, and maybe even bordering on 2011 Alabama. Of course, there’s always that “who have they really played” bugaboo.
Oregon meanwhile was third fiddle in the Big Ten after losing to Indiana. They’ve generally been a very good team, but sharing a conference with Ohio State and Indiana made it tough for the Ducks to get too much attention.
If the Red Raiders win, then you have to think Indiana may be coming into the Rose Bowl with a little bit of shaken confidence, as their entire season rests on the fact that they beat OSU and Oregon.
Enjoy the morning, for this afternoon, we go to war and it will be time for nerves.
Roll Tide!
