The Washington Huskies are one of three college football programs named as finalists for Crean Lutheran standout defensive back Evan Mack ahead of his commitment on Thursday.

Mack, a 6-foot-3 and 175-pound cornerback from Irvine, California, made an official visit to UW on June 5-6 in between trips to Arizona State (May 1-2) and Arizona (June 19-20), with the Wildcats viewed as the favorite going into his decision.

The Huskies have been frequent visitors to Crean Lutheran High School over the past few years, including four offers out to recruits in the 2027 class: quarterback Caden Jones, wide receiver Ty Johnson (an Arizona commit), and a pair of cornerbacks, Jacob Whitehead and Mack.

Following two years at Long Beach Wilson, which saw the three-star boast 48 total tackles, 17 passes defended and three interceptions over 19 games, Mack showed well as a receiver and outside cornerback, finishing his first season at Crean Lutheran with 49 tackles, 10 pass breakups and 2 interceptions over 11 games in 2025.

Secondary coach John Richardson has done well in tandem with safeties coach Taylor Mays and defensive coordinator Ryan Walters to build out a strong defensive backs class in 2027 with a pair of four-stars: Jaden Walk-Green and Isala Aisa Wily-Ava, on top of three-star Graham-Kapowsin cornerback Maurice Williams, who was one of the earliest commits in the cycle.

The Huskies are also looking strong for four-star IMG Academy cornerback Censere Gaylord, a top 115 recruit in the 2027 class based on the 247Sports' Composite rankings, who made his official visit the same weekend as Mack.
