The Washington Huskies were among the first programs to extend an offer to 2028 defensive back Xavier Sandhu, and Jedd Fisch's coaching staff could make an early push to secure his services.
The 6-foot-2, 170-pound product of Brophy College Preparatory in Phoenix, Arizona, who is ranked as the No. 775 overall prospect and No. 75 cornerback in the class by the Rivals Industry, has generated early interest from all over the country.
He holds seven offers, with Arizona, Colorado, North Carolina, Penn State, and UCLA all among the programs interested in his services, as he looks like the prototypical cornerback for secondary coach John Richardson.
After an amazing conversation with @CoachJRich I am blessed to have received an offer from the University of Washington☔️☔️☔️ #Godawgs@jason247scout@FootballBrophy@therealbeadle@BrandonHuffman@ZekeSandhu@CoachReedLive@UW_Football@Kvandenbosch93@247Sports@CoverageU_pic.twitter.com/w5pJQSXGE0

On film, the young defensive back shows off the versatility to flex between outside corner and safety, a trait that defensive coordinator Ryan Walters covets. In coverage, he shows off the fluidity to flip his hips and change direction without slowing down, along with the long arms and ball skills to be disruptive at the catch point and thrive in press coverage as he continues to get stronger.
Sandhu is also a willing and physical tackler, working his way through blockers on both run plays and screens, consistently finding his way to the ball carrier and holding them to little or no gain on the play, another key trait for Walters' defensive backs.
The Huskies hold four pledges in the secondary in the 2027 class: four-star safeties Jaden Walk-Green and Isala Aisa Wily-Ava, four-star cornerback Censere Gaylord, and three-star cornerback Maurice Williams, and are on the hunt for their first in the 2028 class.
