Another Gold interception

Fisch has added some twists for the honorary head coaches. On third down, Jamie Clark chose to use one of his "wild cards" to take Demond Williams Jr. out of the play. That moved sophomore tight end Baron Naone to quarterback, where he immediately tried to look deep for Rashid Williams, but the pass was underthrown and fell into the waiting arms of safety Paul Mencke Jr.

UW soccer gets involved, 10-3 Gold

Jedd Fisch has made it a habit to get Washington's other programs involved in the festivities. During a commercial break, men's soccer defender Carter Gay and women's soccer defender Maya Loudd both missed field goal attempts from 35 yards out, before the head coach walked out and gave each player another opportunity from about 25 yards away, which they both buried to earn points for their respective teams.

Freshman mistake leads to a score, 7-0 Gold

After the gold team went three-and-out, freshman wide receiver Mason James was back to field a punt from Luke Dunne, but he misread the kick. It went straight through his hands and bounced off his knee into the end zone, where it was recovered by Robinson once again.

Demond Williams Jr. throws an early interception

On the purple team's second play from scrimmage, following a false start, the junior quarterback's timing was a hair off while looking for wide receiver Rashid Williams. The pass was behind his intended target and sophomore cornerback Dylan Robinson made a diving play to secure the day's first turnover.

Gold team starts with the ball, 0-0

After an early facemask penalty, freshman Gavin Day made his mark with a big hit on wide receiver Justice Williams. On third down, they tried a double pass with wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck, who opted to tuck it and run, but couldn't get back to the line of scrimmage before an Elijah Brown pass was broken up by Ramonz Adams on fourth down.

Washington Huskies injury update

While there is no official injury report for the scrimmage, the status of several players is worth monitoring. Wide receivers Chris Lawson, Christian Moss, Bodpegn Miller, and Jordan Clay have all been in and out of the lineup over the last few weeks, while tight end Austin Simmons and linebacker Zaydrius Rainey-Sale have both been in non-contact jerseys.

Rainey-Sale told members of the media on Tuesday that he expects to play on Friday.

A brief look at Dawgs After Dark

The Washington Huskies are set to play their third "Dawgs After Dark" spring game on Thursday night to wrap up spring practice ahead of the 2026 college football season, which will be their third in the Big Ten.

As Jedd Fisch's coaching staff has plenty of faith that the team will take another step forward this fall, the Huskies will be led by plenty of young talent, headlined by several blue-chip recruits from the 2026 class, including left tackle Kodi Greene, defensive linemen Derek Colman-Brusa, TI Umu-Cais, and Ramzak Fruean, and wide receivers Trez Davis and Mason James.

Friday will give fans a first look at all of them in an intrasquad scrimmage, including Greene, who has taken every rep with the first-team offense this spring and has impressed.

"He's an absolute stud," sophomore left guard John Mills said. "I'm so proud of the way he's come in and worked every single day. He never takes anything for granted; he's come in and asks all the questions, he works in the weight room, and he works on the field. I'm sure you guys can see he's an absolute baller."
