Washington Football Star WR Boasts Career Day Vs. Eastern Washington

Sophomore wide receiver Dezmen Roebuck set new career highs in receptions and receiving yards Saturday night in the Washington Huskies' 48-16 victory over Eastern Washington.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound second-year pass catcher hauled in a team and game-high 9 receptions for 121 yards, his first 100-yard receiving game of 2026. As a freshman in 2025, Roebuck posted his first career 100-yard game in a 38-19 victory over Rutgers that saw the Marana, Arizona, native finish with 4 catches for 108 yards.

As expected, Roebuck has elevated his impact for UW's offense through the first three games of the season with at least seven receptions against Washington State, Utah State, and Eastern Washington. Roebuck had seven catches in a game once last season in a 48-16 win at UCLA, which saw the first-year finish with 96 yards against the Bruins.

In late August, Roebuck's younger brother Sean was involved in a serious car accident. Immediately the star UW WR went back home to be with his family before returning the following week to get ready for the start of the season.

"He's had a lot going on that second-to-last week before we started," coach Jedd Fisch said Monday during his weekly press conference. "There were some scary times. There was a lot of communication down there. Amber (Fisch) and the girls were at the hospital with his family, and we were constantly in contact, making sure that everything was okay."

Going into Week Four against Minnesota, the Grand Canyon State product sits at No. 4 in the Big Ten and tied for No. 9 in the country in receptions with 23 through the first three games. However, Roebuck is the only player with at least 20 catches this season who doesn't also have at least one touchdown reception through the first three games.

Roebuck had a rare pair of drops in UW's 16-14 victory in Week Two, one that could have sealed the game late in the fourth quarter before the Huskies ended up holding on for the narrow win.

"But I don't think that had anything to do with a couple drops," Fisch added. "I think that was just flukey. He wanted to go score a touchdown after he didn't score a touchdown. So, he was back to normal (against Eastern Washington). Now we're going to need him to get better than normal every week because he is a really good player for us. We're expecting him to continue to be who Dez is."
