Since the moment he signed, Jedd Fisch and the Washington Huskies have not been shy about the expectations around five-star freshman Kodi Greene.
In December, the head coach stated that he expected the 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive tackle to come in and fight for a starting job immediately during spring practice, comparing him to 2025 Freshman All-American John Mills. Even after just a few months on a college campus, Greene looked the part of a Big Ten offensive lineman throughout spring practice, taking every rep with the first team offensive line throughout spring camp.
After an impressive camp, FOX Sports’ Michael Cohen expects him to be one of the nation’s most impactful freshmen during the 2026 season.
Throughout his first camp at the college level, Greene impressed his teammates and coaches with not just his elite athletic ability, but also his mental ability to pick up a college playbook and some of the advanced stunts and pressures defensive coordinator Ryan Walters threw at him.

“He’s an absolute stud,” Mills said in April. “I’m so proud of the way he’s come in and worked every single day. He never takes anything for granted; he’s come in and asks all the questions, he works in the weight room, and he works on the field. I’m sure you guys can see he’s an absolute baller.”
As the Huskies look to take another step forward along the offensive line and in the Big Ten in 2026, Greene has shown that he has all the necessary talent needed to step into the position and fill the shoes of Carver Willis, who was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the fourth round of the NFL draft.
“Kodi Greene’s done some impressive things out here,” Switzer added. “He’s talented in terms of his athleticism and his ability to play the game of football, but what I’d say is most impressive is his what he’s doing in the film room, how he’s understanding defenses, how he’s communicating with the offensive line. He’s taken it very serious since the day he got here, and it’s showing; he’s doing some nice things.”
