Washington has been building a running back room full of speedsters with Jordan Washington, Quaid Carr, and Brian Bonner in Scottie Graham's position room.

The Huskies have their fair share of bruisers, too, with Julian McMahan and Ansu Sanoe in the mix for touches as underclassmen. But with Jonah Coleman graduating and Adam Mohammed transferring to Cal, Washington is missing a player who combines those two traits.

They'll get one in 2027, as four-star running back Jeremy Adeyanju from Sandra Day O'Connor (Ariz.) committed to the Huskies on Sunday.

Adeyanju told multiple recruiting analysts that Washington and USC were the leaders for him in a pack that included offers from Florida, Michigan, UCLA, Utah, Arizona, and Arizona State, among others. He visited Montlake for their annual Junior Day last weekend, then immediately headed to a visit at USC on March 11 to compare and contrast his two leaders.

But as the only running back at Junior Day, Adeyanju spent the entire weekend with Graham, who has a proven track record as a developer of talent and as a recruiter. That likely sealed the deal for the recruit, who told Dawgman.com after his visit that a family-oriented atmosphere would be a big factor in his decision.

Among the other things he mentioned as factors were the ability to play early and a major in a computer-related field. Washington is, thanks to the large tech presence in the surrounding Seattle area, one of the best computer science programs in the country. Coach Jedd Fisch has also shown he is willing to play the best players, regardless of age, across all positions, dating back to his time at Arizona.

That will be key for Adeyanju as he enters a young running back room that will be led in some respect by Washington, Carr, and Bonner, with senior Oregon transfer Jayden Limar in the mix as well. That room looks technically more veteran in 2027 with Washington entering his redshirt junior season, Carr his true junior, and Bonner his true sophomore year, but opportunity will still abound for the Arizona native.

At 6-foot and 215 pounds, Adeyanju ran for 1,167 yards and 15 touchdowns as a junior last season. He has also ran as fast as 11.59 in the 100m and 24.28 in the 200m, both times he logged during his freshman year before putting the track spikes aside and focusing on football.

Washington now has 9 commitments in the 2027 class, led by wide receivers Braylon Pope and Zerek Sidney. The remainder of the commitments are on defense – corner Maurice Williams, linebackers Isaiah Leilua, Ethan Coach, Justin Coach, and Titus Osterman, and defensive lineman Matamatagi Uiagalelei. That class ranked No. 7 in the country according to 247Sports before Adeyanju's commitment on Sunday.
