Two of the biggest benefits of the transfer portal in college football are the ability for teams to fill out their roster and plug holes with veteran players, while those veteran players try to use one last chance to improve their stock before hopefully making a leap to the NFL.

That's the marriage that is currently taking place up in Seattle.

On Tuesday, the Washington Huskies landed a commitment from veteran running back transfer Trey Cooley. In five years of college football, Cooley has spent time with the Louisville Cardinals, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Troy Trojans. Cooley did not play in any games this past year at Troy, but he rushed for 1,009 yards and six touchdowns in his four seasons before that. He also added 33 catches for 355 yards and 4 scores through the air.

Cooley could be a very intriguing addition to the Huskies backfield this season, assuming he can stay healthy, after Washington already added former Oregon Duck RB Jayden Limar through the portal. There are also young players like Jordan Washington, Brian Bonner, and Quaid Carr who could turn some heads.
