Washington will be back on the quarterback market again.

Demond Williams Jr. plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal after two seasons with the Washington Huskies, a significant loss for a program coming off a nine-win campaign.

Williams arrived in Seattle in January 2024 after originally signing with the Arizona Wildcats. When head coach Jedd Fisch left Tucson for Washington, Williams followed. He appeared in 26 games for the Huskies, starting two as a true freshman and all 13 games in 2025.

With Will Rogers graduating, Williams took over as the starter and delivered a breakout sophomore season. He completed 70% of his passes for 3,065 yards, 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions, while adding 611 rushing yards and six scores. Washington finished 9-4 in 2025.

Williams was named the team’s offensive MVP and earned bowl MVP honors after leading a 38–10 win over Boise State in the LA Bowl.

As of now, Williams will be one of the top quarterbacks available, with two years of eligibility remaining.
