It’s been a pretty stressful couple of days around the Woody Hayes Athletic Complex when it comes to the early signing period. Ohio State brought in a fantastic recruiting class once again, but it had to wait on its prized jewel of the class, 5-star receiver Chris Henry Jr., because of the news of Brian Hartline accepting the head coaching job at USF.

In the end, though, the relationships and culture of the Ohio State program won out, and Henry stuck with his commitment and announced his decision to stick with the Buckeyes on Friday live during the Pat McAfee show. This, despite teams like Oregon, USC, and Texas jumping on the opportunity and making a late push for the highest-rated receiver in the 2026 class.

If you missed any of the comments he and his family made during the live broadcast, we have them here, thanks to the Pat McAfee YouTube channel.

At the end of the day, Buckeye Nation should be celebrating this decision. You can’t really blame a kid for taking a couple of days to make sure he’s making a decision he and his family feel comfortable about. Adding him to the wide receiver room is going to keep things humming right along for Zone 6.
