It's now or never for Texas A&M if the Aggies have any shot at making it back to the College Football Playoff, as last Saturday's devastating and embarrassing 31-21 home loss to Kentucky sent shockwaves through the college football world, matching Oregon's Week 2 road loss to Oklahoma State and Oklahoma's road loss against an average Michigan team.

I don't need to tell you how important this weekend's road test vs. No. 10 LSU is, but for those who have been avoiding A&M-related news after the disappointing loss, Texas A&M will face the Tigers in Baton Rouge for a primetime showdown after destroying LSU and former coach Brian Kelly 49-25 in Tiger Stadium late last season.

Coach Mike Elko and his team aren't taking the Kentucky loss lightly based on what we've heard this week, starting with Elko's pre-game press conference on Monday, combined with Wednesday's Aggie Football Hour, where the third-year head coach defended starting quarterback Marcel Reed, who threw two interceptions in the loss, while noting his team's enhanced focus during this week's practice.

LSU is coming off its emotional 32-24 loss, as new coach Lane Kiffin's return to his former program placed the Tigers in a similar hole at 0-1 to start SEC play. Transfer quarterback Sam Leavitt has already thrown five interceptions this year, all while operating from the pocket, giving Mike Elko and DC Lyle Hemphill a potential blueprint to slow down LSU's passing attack.
