Jan. 16—MORGANTOWN — The best in West Virginia has chosen to stay in West Virginia.

Princeton High School athlete Brad Mossor announced he has committed to the Mountaineers on social media. He received an offer just an hour before his decision.

Mossor played wide receiver and then converted over to running back later in his senior season. He reeled in 93 passes for 1, 508 yards and 13 touchdowns, rushed 123 times for 896 yards and 28 touchdowns and returned three punts, two interceptions and one kickoff for a touchdown. His 28 rushing scores broke the school's single-season record. He beat out West Virginia University Hall of Fame inductee Jimmy Walthall in 1943. Mossor did it all, and even had a passing touchdown.

Mossor led Princeton to its first football state championship in 102 seasons, and the season won him the 2025 Kennedy Award, which is given to the best high school football player in the state of West Virginia by the WVSWA.

Mossor missed the early signing period but will sign during the February window and is set to join the Mountaineers in the summer. Mossor is the third player WVU has picked up in the state. The Mountaineers have signed wide receiver Malachi Thompson and tight end Xavier Anderson.

Mossor will be the third athlete in the class. WVU has 4-star Matt Sieg and 3-star John Johnson listed as athletes on their signing day roster.

He becomes the 48th commit for the class. WVU had 49, but it lost two, who asked for their release. Mossor is the first player for the second signing window.
