'What A Joke' – Lane Kiffin Ripped For Adding NFL Player To LSU's Roster

Lane Kiffin is adding an NFL player to LSU’s roster for 2026.

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported on Sunday evening that the Cleveland Browns are waiving tight end Dae’Quan Wright. The NFL tight end first has to pass through waivers, which is expected. Once he does, he has an agreement to play for LSU for the 2026 college football season.

Wright will be the first NFL player to go from the pros back to the college football level. He previously played for Kiffin at Ole Miss.

“History: the Browns are waiving tight end Dae’Quan Wright and, if he clears waivers, he has an agreement in place for the 2026 season to play for LSU, per agents Drew Rosenhaus and Kyle Lincoln. Wright is believed to be the first player who could play for an NFL team, and then go back to play in college,” he reported.

NFL and college football fans are ripping Kiffin for doing this. However, he likely won’t be alone if more players attempt this move.

Fans call out Kiffin, LSU for roster addition

Wright, 22, played collegiately at Virginia Tech and Ole Miss. He went undrafted coming out of college in 2026 and has since spent time on the Eagles and Browns’ rosters. Now, he appears to be heading back to college, to play for Kiffin at LSU.
