It’s Week 7, and the LSU Tigers are back home in Death Valley Saturday morning to take on the Mississippi State Bulldogs.
The Tigers return to Death Valley on Saturday looking to get back on track after a heartbreaking 35-34 overtime loss to Kentucky in Lexington. But standing in their way is a Mississippi State team capable of lighting up the scoreboard. Led by dual-threat quarterback Kamario Taylor, the Bulldogs are averaging 39 points per game and will test a Tigers’ defense looking for answers.
For Lane Kiffin, the formula is simple: limit explosive plays, pressure Taylor and avoid costly turnovers. Quarterback Sam Leavitt must also find consistency and keep the offense moving. With two SEC losses already, LSU has very little room for error. Saturday’s matchup is more than another conference game. It’s an opportunity for the Tigers to prove they can respond to adversity and regain momentum.
According to our friends at FanDuel, LSU is currently a 10.5-point favorite over Mississippi State with the over/under set at 59.5 points. However, expect some movement in those numbers as the week progress.
Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. at Tiger Stadium.
