The US LBM Coaches Poll No. 4 Notre Dame hosts Rice in Week 2 of the 2026 college football season.

The Fighting Irish are coming off of a Week 1 win against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. Notre Dame started off a bit sluggish in the first half, as the Fighting Irish had their hands full with a physical Badger team. But the Irish adjusted and dominated the second half en route to a 41-13 victory.

Rice should present less of a challenge. The Irish are 5-0 all-time against the Owls.
