Ohio State football‘s dominant run through its 2025 Big Ten schedule will come across one of its more unique obstacles this season.
With a 9-0 record and a No. 1 ranking in the College Football Playoff selection committee rankings and the US LBM Coaches Poll, the Buckeyes will host UCLA on Saturday, Nov. 15 in a Week 12 matchup at Ohio Stadium.

Despite losing several key pieces from last season’s national title team, Ohio State has showed few, if any, signs of slipping. Since a season-opening 14-7 win over Arch Manning and then-No. 1 Texas, the Buckeyes have obliterated their opponents, winning each of their past eight games by at least 18 points. With the country’s best wide receiver duo at his disposal, quarterback Julian Sayin has been ruthlessly efficient, completing 80.9% of his passes for 2,491 yards, 24 touchdowns and just four interceptions while morphing into one of the favorites for the Heisman Trophy.
Ohio State’s latest test will come against a UCLA squad that’s been one of the more interesting and unpredictable teams in the sport this season. After a 0-4 start and a coaching change, the Bruins showed serious signs of life, winning three straight games and averaging 33.3 points per game over that stretch under interim offensive coordinator Jerry Neuseisel. Since then, though, they’ve lost their past two games, getting drubbed by Indiana 56-6 and losing 28-21 at home to a Nebraska team with a backup quarterback.
The matchup will pit Ohio State against a familiar face in UCLA quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who, while at Tennessee last season, the Buckeyes held to 104 passing yards and 3.4 yards per passing attempt in a blowout 42-17 win in the first round of the playoff.

UCLA’s initial burst of magic after DeShaun Foster’s firing has started to wear off, with the Bruins dropping each of their past two games.
