Official visits are just around the corner for the Wisconsin Badgers, setting up a crucial time for the 2027 recruiting class, where the program has already received 13 commitments.

Still, there’s a good amount of work to do, as Wisconsin hopes to have another top-30 class after carrying a smaller group with their 2026 recruiting class.

The Badgers have done some good work in what has been a loaded in-state class, while also starting to secure commitments from some of their top targets outside of the state. But, where do they still need to add in the class?

Let’s break down where Wisconsin stands position-by-position heading into official visits.

Quarterback (1): Three-star Jack Sorgi

Wisconsin got its quarterback of the class when it landed legacy Jack Sorgi. He was a top target for the Badgers for a while, and they were able to nab a commitment from him in the spring.

The Badgers should carry one quarterback again in 2027 after landing four-star Ryan Hopkins in the 2026 class.

Running Back (1): Four-star Kingston Allen

The Badgers landed the No. 1 recruit from the state of Wisconsin, four-star running back Kingston Allen, and he seems to be their lone back in the class for 2026.

Wisconsin wasn’t able to land a running back in the 2026 class, falling short on top target Amari Latimer with a Signing Day flip, while signee Qwantavius Wiggins is not expected to be with the program anymore.

But they hit hard in the transfer portal this offseason, landing Abu Sama, Bryan Jackson, Nate Palmer, and recently, Julius Pope, who is the No. 1 JUCO back. That group, paired with Darrion Dupree, should provide a solid foundation, with Allen set to join in 2027.

Wide Receivers (0)

Wisconsin doesn’t have any commitments in the class at wide receiver yet, but there are several targets they’re looking at during official visits.

Bennett Konkey, Tajeh Watson, Chanin Harris, and Steele Harris are all locked in for official visits, and the Badgers could end up with two of that group to solidify the class in 2027.

Steele Harris is the bigger-bodied wideout Wisconsin targets on the boundary. Watson is a better fit in the slot. Chanin Harris has solid size at 6’1, 175 pounds. And Konkey falls there as well at 6’1, 180 pounds.

Tight Ends (1): Four-star Korz Loken

Wisconsin is well set at tight end with four-star in-state recruit Korz Loken, who was a huge addition to the class earlier this year.

Still, it seems they could go for a multi-tight-end class once again, as they continue to add youth to the room. Three-star DeShaun Thomas is the lone other tight end set to have an official visit for the Badgers.

Offensive Line (4): Four-star Cole Reiter, Four-star Hunter Mallinger, Three-star Reece Mallinger, Three-star Ethan McIntosh

The Badgers have a great foundation with four in-state offensive line commits already. That allows them to pick and choose for that fifth spot.

Currently, they’ve got two more candidates coming in on official visits: four-star Alijah Shaw and three-star Reed Gerken, who are both coming during the first weekend of June.

Defensive Line (2): Three-star Will Zaccagnino, Three-star David Hill

After some early misses in the class, the Badgers got commitments from Will Zaccagnino and David Hill this spring. The question is: will they end up taking a third defensive lineman?

While the Badgers could continue evaluating here through the Fall, the lone other player set to visit officially is three-star Yahzeen Zion, who fits what Wisconsin wants at 6’4, 265 pounds with the frame to bulk up.

Edge rusher/Outside Linebackers (1): Three-star Isaac Miller

The Badgers got an early commitment from in-state edge rusher Isaac Miller, who is their lone commitment at the position so far.

To potentially pair with him, Wisconsin has two current official visitors slated: three-star Darin Graham and three-star Jeron Allen II.

Inside Linebackers (1): Three-star Keaton Wollan

The Badgers got a recent commitment, flipping three-star Keaton Wollan from Iowa State. Now, can they land a second linebacker during official visits?

Three-star prospects Aaron Williams and Nathan Jones are both in town next weekend during the first weekend of official visits. It’s notable that Jones is visiting Wisconsin early, with the Badgers being his only official visit.

Cornerbacks (0)

The Badgers don’t have any commitments here, but they do have a group of official visitors they’re looking to close on.

Wisconsin is shooting big here, looking to flip four-star Florida State commit Mekhi Williams, while high three-star Evan Via, and three-stars Blaise Burwell and Darryl Flemister are coming on official visits as well.

Safety (2): Three-star Dustin Roach, Three-star DJ Davis

The Badgers filled out well at safety early, and now have the luxury of potentially adding a third player here in the class.

Wisconsin does have a late official visit set with four-star Cooper Ohnmacht, but he’s trending elsewhere currently. They also have one with three-star Texas native James Roberson.
