What games should OU football fans be paying attention to this weekend?

OU appears to be a lock for the College Football Playoff.
But with the Sooners off this weekend as conferences hold their championship games, there are questions remaining: Who will the Sooners play? Where will they play? Etc.
The outcomes of games this weekend will go a long way in answering those questions ahead of the final CFP rankings coming out at 11 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 7, on ESPN.
But until then, here is a look at the games OU fans should be paying close attention to this weekend:
SEC Championship Game: Georgia vs. Alabama
- When: 3 p.m. CT, Saturday, Dec. 6
- Who: Georgia (11-1, 7-1) vs. Alabama (10-2, 7-1)
- Where: Atlanta, Georgia
Georgia is favored (-2.5 according to DraftKings), but what happens if Alabama wins?
According to The Oklahoman’s Joe Mussatto:
Then the Sooners better pack their bags.
No. 9 Alabama is only one spot behind OU. The Sooners beat the Crimson Tide, but if Alabama beats Georgia (again) in the SEC Championship Game, Alabama will almost certainly leapfrog the Sooners.
So unless Georgia or Texas Tech — assuming a loss to BYU in the Big 12 title game — tanks in the rankings (I can’t imagine they will), a ‘Bama win likely ensures a road game for the Sooners in Round 1.
Against who? My guess is at Texas A&M in the No. 8/No. 9 game. This is a way for the committee to avoid an OU-Alabama rematch. Bump Alabama to No. 7 and drop Texas A&M to No. 8. The Sooners and Aggies haven’t played. What a circus that would be in College Station.
Big 12 Championship Game: Texas Tech vs. BYU
- When: 11 a.m. CT, Saturday, Dec. 6
- Who: Texas Tech (11-1, 8-1) vs. BYU (11-1, 8-1)
- Where: Arlington, Texas
Texas Tech is a pretty big favorite in this one (-12.5 according to DraftKings), but again, what happens if the underdog Cougars win?
Would the No. 11 Cougars pass the No. 8 Sooners?
Maybe.
So even if Georgia takes care of business, OU could still fall to No. 9? Certainly possible.
