Jon Sumrall is set to make $7,450,000 in his first year as Florida football's head coach, according to payment details released by the program on Monday, Dec. 1. Sumrall and the program agreed to a six-year contract that will total $44.7 million in salary.

The 43-year-old Sumrall is more than doubling his salary with the Florida Gators after making $3 million this season at Tulane.

Sumrall's contract is also laced with performance incentives, including $5 million winning the College Football Playoff championship game, $3.75 million for a CFP championship game appearance, $3 million for a CFP semifinal game appearance, $2 million for a CFP quarterfinal game appearance, $1.25 million for a CFP first round appearance and $100,000 for a non-CFP bowl game appearance.

Other bonuses include $1.5 million for an SEC championship game win, $250,000 for an SEC championship game appearance, $50,000 for being named SEC Coach of the Year and $100,000 for being named National Coach of the Year.

The buyout for Sumrall's contract if he's fired without cause is 70% of his remaining salary, but there's mitigation if he accepts another NFL or Division I head coaching or front office job.

Sumrall will get an annual budget of $16.3 million to hire assistant coaches.

The buyout for Sumrall, should he leave Florida for another job, is $10 million within his first calendar year, reducing to $8 million, $3 million, $2 million, $2 million, $1 million and 0 dollars in each of the successive seasons.
