Former Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin has weighed in on the online back-and-forth between Ole Miss and LSU fans.
Kiffin left Ole Miss to become the head coach at LSU on Nov. 30. Since, Ole Miss fans online have been open about their negative opinions of Kiffin and his decision. With multiple Ole Miss assistant coaches and staffers and four players choosing to leave the Rebels and follow Kiffin to LSU, tensions between the two fan bases have risen.
On Jan. 22, Kiffin quoted a post on X that summarized the two fan bases’ main points in the argument. The post also claimed, “The LSU and Ole Miss Fan Twitter fights have gotten boring.”
In response, Kiffin wrote, “It’s a sport guys. Stop attacking each other personally and each others families. Move on and both sides just enjoy what they have. Make a grateful list of what you have this morning and focus on that and not what you don’t have. #LetItGo”

The post drew mixed reactions with some fans agreeing with Kiffin and others still choosing to express animosity.
The Rebels and Tigers will settle their differences on the field during the 2026 football season. Ole Miss will host LSU at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for its SEC opener on Sept. 19.
