With the Oregon football team taking on the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, the fanbase is wondering what the quarterback situation will look like and if Dante Moore is able to come back. As there would be an Oregon football quarterback competition if Moore can’t go, head coach Dan Lanning’s recent comments on Moore leave the door open for a return, though it isn’t set in stone.
According to Zachary Neel at USA Today, Lanning would say that the upcoming Big Ten Availability Report will reveal Moore’s status for Saturday’s contest against the Cornhuskers. However, Lanning would say that Moore “looks great” in practice after sustaining a concussion in Sept. 26’s win over the USC Trojans.
“Dan Lanning says that he’s going to let the Big Ten Availability Report tell us whether or not Dante Moore would be available this week,” Neel wrote on X, formerly Twitter. “Said he’s been out there practicing this week and looks great, which he’s been excited to see.”

If Moore were to play, it would be a major boost for the Ducks in getting back one of the better quarterbacks in the country, as the other options are Raiola and Brock Thomas. In Oregon football’s loss to UCLA last Saturday, Raiola threw for 43 yards and two interceptions, as he was benched for Thomas, who recorded 156 yards and a touchdown, leading to Lanning saying Monday that it will be an open competition if Moore can’t make it.
“This game — of course, it’s going to be an emotional game for Dylan, being the place he came from. He’s going to do everything he can to make sure our team is in the best situation to have success this week and be prepared. … I know he’ll do that because he’s a pro,” Lanning said Monday, per Pete Nakos.
At any rate, it remains to be seen what Moore’s status looks like for the clash against Nebraska.
